Kathmandu, Oct 4: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has suspended all domestic flights today due to continuous rainfall since early this morning.
According to TIA General Manager Hansa Raj Pandey, flights to and from Kathmandu, Bharatpur, Janakpur, Bhadrapur, Pokhara, and Tumlingtar have been grounded due to poor weather conditions caused by the persistent rain. However, international flights at TIA remain unaffected.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reported rainfall across various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, since early morning. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several regions, particularly across Koshi, Bagmati, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, for today and tomorrow. Rainfall is expected to intensify during the night.
