Kathmandu, March 29: Former King Gyanendra Shah has been slapped with a 7,93,000 rupees fine under various headings in connection with the protest held in Tinkune on Friday.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City imposed the fine under 8 different headings. The offenses include vandalism of tree and plant fences, environmental damage by dumping rubbish on the streets, and vandalism of a fire engine, among others.
The metropolis wrote a letter in the name of former King Gyanendra Shah, claiming that the demonstration was organized at his request..
Two people, including a journalist, were killed during the violent protest led by the pro-monarchy group. Protesters vandalized, set fire to, and looted various places.
53 Nepal Police personnel, 22 Armed Police personnel, and 35 protesters were injured during the protest.
