
Kathmandu, Feb 26: Police have arrested 75 people from the premises of the Pashupatinath temple premises today on the day of Mahashivaratri festival.
Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Apil Raj Bohara, shared that 75 people have been arrested on charges of indulging in unruly behaviour in the sacred place, including hooliganism, commotion and unwarranted activities in the Pashupatinath area.
Police have stated that some of those arrested have been kept at the Police Circle Gaushala and some at the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
A total of 4,200 police officers have been mobilized under the command of a Superintendent of Police in the Pashupatinath temple area today to ensure security and maintain law and order on the day of Mahashivaratri.
Thousands of devotees have thronged to pay obeisance to Pashupatinath since this morning.
