Manjali Shakya Bajracharya, Deputy Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, has stated that present growth models must be revised in order to conserve the world for future generations.

On Sunday, she voiced her opinion at a seminar titled 'Green School: Education for a Sustainable Planet' hosted by the Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) in the capital to exchange ideas about green schools, education for a sustainable planet, and to raise critical awareness of existing good practices in Nepal and other South Asian countries.

Numerous experts emphasized on the 'green school' notion, emphasizing that investing in green schools now may benefit their future and the globe.

Dr. Hari Lamsal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, reaffirmed his commitment to working with diverse stakeholders, including academics, media, civil society groups, and sub-national governments, to execute the green school idea.

Experts from Pakistan, Australia, India, and Bangladesh contributed country-specific knowledge on education and climate change.
