
Police have detained former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak from their residences in Bhaktapur.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Surya Bahadur Khadka, Chief of the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Oli early this morning from his rented residence in Suryabinayak Municipality-7, Gundu. The police team reportedly reached the location at around 5:00 am and subsequently took him to Kathmandu.
In a separate operation, police also arrested former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak from his rented residence in Suryabinayak Municipality-5, Katunje. He was likewise taken to Kathmandu following his detention.
SP Khadka confirmed that both arrests were carried out by teams mobilized from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. Further details regarding the reasons for their detention have not yet been disclosed.
