Kathmandu. Speaking during the zero hour of the National Assembly, lawmakers drew the government's attention to the country's contemporary and serious public interest issues. They alerted the government about action against those involved in criminal incidents, the impartiality of the judiciary, and problems seen in infrastructure development.
Lawmakers Puja Chaudhary and Rukmini Koirala expressed serious concern over incidents of rape and murder. Lawmaker Chaudhary stated that sending those involved in the rape and murder of a 3-year-old girl to a child reform home and releasing others on bail is not justifiable. She said it is wrong to release individuals with such criminal tendencies openly in society and demanded the death penalty for the culprits.
Similarly, lawmaker Rukmini Koirala drew the Home Minister's attention, stating that incidents of violence against women and rape are being repeated in various parts of the country recently.
Lawmaker Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma expressed serious dissatisfaction with the vandalism incident that occurred at the Supreme Court on Bhadra 24. He demanded that the government strengthen the security system of a dignified institution like the Supreme Court and conduct a high-level investigation into such incidents and take strict action against the culprits.
Lawmaker Krishna Prasad Adhikari drew the government's attention, stating that the condition of roads, pathways, bridges, and streets is pathetic. Mentioning that local citizens are suffering due to the lack of roads in various rural municipalities of Rasuwa district, he urged to immediately make the road routes operational and arrange for the supply of essential goods such as food and medicine.
Furthermore, he demanded that the government immediately start work in coordination with the local levels.
