
Kathmandu, Dec 1: The District Police Office, Kathmandu has arrested and made public two persons for their involvement in crypto currency. They were transacting Rs 7.4 million as crypto currency.
Those arrested were Bishal Dangol, 36, from Kathmandu Metropolis-14 and Umesh Shrestha, 45, originally from Morang district and currently staying at Kalanki, Kathmandu, according to Superintendent of Police, Pavan Kumar Bhattarai.
A team mobilized from the District Police Range, Kathmandu arrested them from Bijulibazaar based on a tip off on Saturday.
Five mobile phone sets used for transacting crypto currency were confiscated from them. Further investigation into the case is underway, Bhattarai added.
Meanwhile, police have arrested three persons defrauding service seekers in the name of facilitation in receiving passport. They were Hemanta Singh Okheda, 19, from Kiritipur, Kathmandu; Manraj Shrestha, 45, from Kathmandu Metropolis-18; and Dipesh KM, 30, from Pyuthan district.
They were found fleecing service seekers at the gate of Passport Department, Tripureshwor and hassling service providers, according to Superintendent of Police, Kaji Kumar Acharya.
